2020: Fire Protection System Replacement Across LTA MRT Stations

LTA awarded Cyclect Contract R178A in 2021 to replace and upgrade fire protection systems across 53 MRT stations, including Halon gas systems and fire alarms on the NSEWL and CCL lines.

The Land Transport Authority awarded Cyclect Contract R178A in 2021 for the replacement and upgrade of fire protection systems across Singapore’s MRT network. The scope included fire alarm replacement at three CCL stations, Halon gas system replacements at 44 NSEWL stations, and fire alarm upgrades at six additional NSEWL stations.

Working within live MRT stations imposes strict constraints: engineering access is only available during non-revenue hours, systems must remain operational during works, coordination with LTA operations is continuous, and any safety-related error has direct consequences for thousands of daily passengers.

The LTA fire protection contract was Cyclect’s largest single fire protection programme and extended its track record in safety-critical engineering for Singapore’s public transport infrastructure.
