Cyclect Group and TSG Group launched FutureData Sdn Bhd in 2023, a Sarawak-Singapore consortium developing a green data centre park in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. The project initially targeted 200MW of capacity, expanding to a 500MW ambition as regional demand for data infrastructure accelerated.
Sarawak offers specific advantages for green data centre development: hydroelectric power, available land and a state government committed to digital infrastructure investment. FutureData is designed to deliver data centre capacity powered by renewable energy, addressing the growing concern among hyperscale operators about the carbon footprint of their facilities.
