Cyclect and SMRT Corporation established a joint venture to provide specialist electrical engineering and construction services for rail and transport systems. The partnership combined Cyclect’s technical execution capability in electrical and mechanical engineering with SMRT’s deep knowledge of Singapore’s rail infrastructure and operating requirements.
Singapore’s MRT network is among the most intensively used rail systems in the world. Maintenance and upgrade work on rail electrical systems must be delivered within narrow engineering access windows, under strict safety protocols, with zero tolerance for disruption to passenger services.
The JV positioned Cyclect with direct access to a significant and technically demanding infrastructure sector. Subsequent work for the Land Transport Authority built further on this rail engineering capability.
