Cyclect completed the installation of 4,800 solar PV panels for Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Company (SSMC) at the Pasir Ris Wafer Fab Park, generating 9MWp of electrical energy. The project was delivered in partnership with Sembcorp Utilities.
Rooftop solar for a semiconductor fab involves more than panel installation. The integration of a large-scale generation system into a facility with highly sensitive manufacturing equipment requires careful electrical design, isolation management and commissioning that does not introduce risk to production operations.
This project extended Cyclect’s solar portfolio into the advanced manufacturing sector, adding to earlier rooftop solar work at Asia Pacific Breweries and establishing a reference in one of Singapore’s most technically demanding industrial environments.
