Cyclect Energy was selected as the bidder for a 50MW solar PV project in Chuadanga, Bangladesh, tendered by the Bangladesh Power Development Board on a build, own and operate basis.
Bangladesh’s government had set a target of generating 40 per cent of national electricity from renewable sources. A 50MW BOO solar project in that context is not simply a construction contract — it requires a developer capable of financing, building and operating a utility-scale power plant over a long concession period.
The Bangladesh project extended Cyclect’s solar capabilities beyond Singapore’s rooftop market into utility-scale generation in a developing economy, reflecting the broader regional energy development role that Cyclect Energy had been building toward.
