Melvin Tan, Group Managing Director of Cyclect, moderated the green data centres track at the Shape the World Summit 2023 in Kuching, Sarawak. The summit brought together business, government and academic leaders to address sustainability and development priorities.
Mr Tan’s track explored the engineering and infrastructure challenges of building data centres that are genuinely sustainable — not simply declared sustainable through offsets. The panel addressed power supply, cooling efficiency, renewable energy integration and the role of local partnerships in developing credible green digital infrastructure.
The Shape the World Summit moderation followed Cyclect’s launch of the FutureData green data centre development in Sarawak, giving Mr Tan firsthand project experience to draw on in the discussion.
