Cyclect developed a Ride and Show Installation capability in 2007, following specialist training by Japanese engineers from Universal Studios Japan. The capability was applied immediately to the installation of complex attractions at Universal Studios Singapore, including Transformers the Ride — one of the first installations of its type to open globally.
Ride and show installation is a niche discipline that draws on capabilities Cyclect had developed over decades: heavy lifting from marine work, precision electrical integration, safety-critical mechanical installation and coordination with international technology principals. The translation of those skills into theme park attractions required specialist knowledge that the USS partnership provided.
The Rides & Show capability that was developed for Universal Studios Singapore was subsequently applied to live event electrical works — including concerts at Singapore Sports Hub — demonstrating how a specialist capability, once built, can extend into adjacent applications.
