Cyclect acquired the assets and personnel of ABB’s Motor and Generator Service Division in Singapore in 2024. The acquisition added ABB’s established MRO capability, client relationships and technical workforce to Cyclect’s existing motor and generator service operations.
ABB is one of the world’s largest power and automation technology companies, and its motor and generator service division carried decades of OEM-aligned servicing experience and a reputation built on ABB’s product expertise. Integrating that capability with Cyclect’s own MRO platform significantly expands the range of equipment Cyclect can service, the depth of technical knowledge available and the number of clients it can support across the motor and generator lifecycle.
The acquisition traces a line back to 1965, when Cyclect — then trading as Cyclect — was first appointed as ASEA’s regional service agent, the predecessor company to ABB. A 60-year relationship between two organisations, formalised into direct integration.
