FSO Unity HVAC Engineering

Cyclect was awarded an HVAC engineering project for FSO Unity, covering system inspection, design, equipment supply, testing and commissioning for the offshore vessel.
Reference Overview

Cyclect was awarded a specialised HVAC project for FSO Unity, a floating storage and offloading vessel operating offshore Nigeria. The vessel forms part of the offshore infrastructure supporting TotalEnergies-operated oil fields in partnership with NNPC.

The project scope covers the inspection and technical assessment of the vessel’s HVAC systems, followed by engineering design and the supply of appropriate equipment and components. Cyclect’s responsibilities also include system testing and commissioning to confirm that the completed works perform in accordance with the approved technical requirements.

Executing HVAC works for an operating offshore asset requires careful consideration of equipment condition, space limitations, marine operating conditions, system reliability and coordination with the vessel’s existing services. The project reflects Cyclect’s ability to combine inspection, engineering, procurement and commissioning within a coordinated marine HVAC scope.

The award strengthens Cyclect’s portfolio in marine and offshore technical services, particularly for asset owners and operators requiring practical HVAC engineering support across the inspection, design, supply and commissioning lifecycle.

Scope

  • HVAC system inspection and condition assessment
  • Engineering review and system design
  • Equipment and component supply
  • Integration with existing vessel services
  • Functional testing and commissioning
  • Marine and offshore project coordination

FSO Unity

FSO Unity is a large floating storage and offloading vessel stationed offshore Nigeria. The vessel receives and stores crude oil from offshore production facilities before transferring it to export tankers. It has an approximate storage capacity of 2.2 million barrels and has supported Nigerian offshore production since 2003.

TotalEnergies and NNPC are presently progressing a separate replacement programme under which FSO Unity is expected to be replaced by FSO Adiana. This replacement programme is independent of Cyclect’s stated HVAC project scope.
